Baby shower

I am throwing my best friend a baby shower. This isn't her first baby but her first is 10 years old, so needless to say everything is gotten rid of or out of date.

What I need help with is, Where there any games that you just loved? What about food? Was there anything that you would have done differently? What were some things that you really liked?

Thanks for all the help.

we did a diaper game at one of my sister's showers and everyone just loved it.  where you melt candy bars in them and ppl have to figure out what they are.  also, we just did a bottle sucking game where we got bottles from the dollar store and timed to see who could drink the most.  as for food, we usually did what the momma liked and what agreed with her as she was preggers.  our last shower we did fried chicken and then had party trays from Subways (with non-deli sandwhiches for the pregger ppl).  have fun planning!!

I know one game that everyone had fun with... We bought blue plastic pacifiers & put a string on them to wear around neck ( and one time we wore blue clothes pins) and if you see anyone cross their legs (sometimes we did legs & arms to make it harder) you take their pacifier.  The person with the most pacifiers at the end of the party wins the prize, it was really fun and competitive and it got the quiet people involved too.

FYI: They're cheaper on Ebay then in the stores if you find the right seller.

Life savers with jelly beans on top were a big hit at my best friends shower. Along with the watermelon bassinet!

We played this game, but we did you lost your binky if you said the "B" word.  The "B" word being baby..lol.  It's hard to not say baby at a baby shower!!

A game my family is notorious for using at all baby showers is to buy some yarn and cut various lengths of string off of it, put it in a bag, and have everyone draw a string out...the one closest to being able to get the string wrapped all the way around their tummy wins the prize...the preggo mommy always ends up with the shortest string somehow:)

The watermelon bassinet would be perfect for the summer. And these candies are so cute but how do you connect all the pieces?

Apple dip..mmmm....   Spread cream cheese on a plate, drizzle with caramel sauce, and top with crushed up skor bar.  So easy, so tasty!

one thing i am gonna do at my shower is ask all the guests to bring a pack of diapers.  Whoever brought a pack of diapers would be entered into a drawing to win a gift card of some kind.  Someone I knew did that and she didnt have to buy diapers for 8 months!! i am sure she would appreciate that!!
