When I have my baby my pug will be 1yr & 2 months old. Can you please share with me how you introduced your dog to your newborn baby? He has never been around a baby so I am worried about how he will be.
when i had my baby back in july my inlaws had 3puppies (like a few months old) and 2adult dogs when i brought him "home" (we stayed at their house for a few days because i had a csection and needed the help cuz my hubby had to get right back to work) i just kept him in my arms and once they all settled down i let them see him in my arms. i never left him alone on the floor with them around. i was never worried about them hurting him because they are all small dogs and i have been around dogs my whole life and am not afraid to drop kick them and make them know their place, also i have a toddler that they were all used to so the new baby was not much of a change..lol..with that said here's a link to the human society's website and how to intro ur pet to a new baby-

we had a 4 year old pug who had never been around babies and i brought home twins he was totally fine with it. i just put them on the ground and he sniffed them. i have the worlds laziest pug though so hes not a hyper jumper or anything. when the twins were 6 months old we bought them a black lab puppy and the pup did great we have the ocasional knock down when he walks by but nothing bad, with our last we bought a 1 year old pit . All our dogs lay there and let our 3 kids under 3 crawl all over them, hug them, lay on them like the dogs are pillows its adorable. i wouldnt worry to much about it.
We had a pit bull and a chihuahua when my son was born, so we took our own receiving blankets to the hospital when he was born and had him wrapped in the blankets for a few hours, then sent the blankets home with my inlaws who were watching our dogs for us and let them sniff the blankets and just get used to his scent. Not sure if it did anything but they were both pretty good about the new baby when we came home, although the chihuahua was a bit too excited at times. We also never did "floor time" unless the dogs were outside, just because I didn't want to worry about them jumping all over the place. We ended up giving my mom the chihuahua because he was just too curious about the baby after awhile, and then once my son started crawling, my son had the advantage and the dog wanted nothing to do with my son at that point. ;-) We still have the pit and her and my son are best buds.
