I've been having cramping all day which I thought was just from gas. Well Around 3:30pm I got really bad cramps all the sudden and ran to the restroom and had diarehha..well when I wiped I had a huge clot of maroon colored discharge..not streaked but completely maroon. I'm not having any painful contractions as of yet and my hubby wants to wait till I'm cramping bad before we go again. My nurse at the doc office is worried that I might give birth real soon...cuz we were planning on going to the mall to walk around to help along my labor...they dont want me to go. but I'm not having painful contractions and I want to hurry this along.....Is that what your mucus plug looks like? What comes next after losing your mucus plug? My water breaking or contractions? How soon after you lose it does things really start? I'm already 3 cen and 90% effaced so what should I do?

my mucus plug was always streaky.... When I passed a solid chunk that was all reddish I went straight to L&D and it was a good thing... I was 8cm and 100% my son was born about 90 minutes later!

ETA: my water never broke until I started pushing

Where you cramping or having regular contractions when you passed it?

Hmmmm according to what I looked up.....the mucus plug blocks off your cervix....well I've already been dilated and the doc said he could feel my water bag yesterday.......So if it's not my mucus plug then what is it?

Bloody show!  A pretty good sign that things are about to take off.  It's from your cervix dilating, and is sometimes considered to be a part of the mucous plug phenomenon, although the two things can happen days apart.  If it was just your mucous plug, it could be a week or more before labor starts (that happened to me with my first; lost the plug, but went past my due date, and was induced anyway).  But bloody show is an indicator of a more imminent forward step.  So looks like yes, you might be just about there!  Which means... right now, I kind of want to KICK you!!  :p  I'm more than a week ahead of you and have been in prodromal labor for a week... GAH!

But happy for you!  Good luck, keep us updated!

Could you walk around at home for a while, maybe go up and down the stairs if you have stairs in your house. I would go in and get checked just to be sure.

Well I lost my mucus plug at 28 weeks and this sounds more like a bloody show. So within a few hours I should be in labor?? I'm going to go walking so if yall dont hear from me tonight it means I went into labor and went to the hospital.
