Carseat Dilemma!

I am trying to get a headstart on our registry and have been recently looking more at the convertible carseats. There is the convienence factor with the infant seats that snap in and out, but I am being swayed by the high safety ratings and the fact that the car seat can be used from 5lbs to 65lbs. What do you moms out there use?  Why? Where did you go for your information when you were researching?  Help!

Thanks in advance!  confused

I have an infant carrier, I got it as part of a travel system. I just like the fact that it fits into the stroller and I can carry the baby around in it.
I dont think there is a wrong choice, you just have to go with what is best for you. I hope you can figure that out, and I agree with the carseat safety group on here, they can help.

Thanks for your advice! I joined the group and am so glad you recommended it to me!  There are so many options out there and I just want to be sure I get the right one for our little one that is safe and fits in my car and our life!

i use an infant carrier just because of weather here, its too much for a little baby to get pulled in and out of a car that way....

but i wish i could do convertible only.

google national carseat safety ratings, i dont know the website for sure but that should bring it up.

also read reviews!!!

Car Seat Safety group is the best!!! We are getting the Sunshine Kids Radian XTSL because it rear faces to 45 pounds and forward faces to 85 pounds. DD right now has the Evenflo Titan Elite. We love it, but it only rear faces to 35 pounds, so we are going to use that for DD2 when she comes in May. That way DD1 can rear face until the max of the seat :) Good luck. Enjoy the group, they are amazing in there!

The ladies are great, glad you joined and i promise it will be very helpful as there are few convertibles that will actually fit a newborn correctly so they'll be able to help out with choosing the right one.

let us know what you get, i'm a car seat addict!!!! we are getting an infant seat for baby because of the cold here and convenience but also bought a true fit :)
