Don't want to over-react but extremely worried all at the same time!!
I am gonna make this as short as possible:
-15 wks I started having contractions if I was on my feet doing ANYTHING for more then 15 min at a time. I was not dehydrated and only laying down for over an hour at a time would stop them. If I got back up they would return.
-I also had pressure and cervical pains
-Doc was out of town so I spoke with my Doula. She came out to listen to the baby, She told me she was very concerned about me showing signs of preterm labor. She was also concerned I might be dilating.
-She suggested starting a magnesium vitamin to help stop contractions-Since 18 wks I have had NO contractions
-During the first trimester I was very horny(TMI for lack of a better word) the past 3 wks I have no sex drive. Hubby and I have only had sex once the past 3 wks and I bleed brown blood from that for a day. I am curious if this is a sign I shouldn't be having sex (again probably over-reacting)
- I am familiar with my cervix after checking positioning and all while TTC . The last time I felt my cervix was about 3 1/2 wks ago. I checked today and I feel an obvious difference in positioning and opening. (Again I am not a Doc and maybe over-reacting)
Basically taking all this in to consideration I am very concerned but I am scared to be overacting and go to get checked out and look crazy! I have a Doc apt Monday and a U/S so I will ask to be checked out thoroughly but I am really freaking out!
Am I over-acting or does this sound like a legitimate concern to you?
This is my 3rd pregnancy and I feel like I know so much about pregnancy until my own issue comes up and then I go blank!
It is great to be aware and informed, but don't over-do it and cause anxiety!
Do you have a copy of Ina May's Guide To Childbirth, Laura Ann? The birth stories might be especially inspiring to you-- I encourage you to read (re-read) that book while you try to relax a little. And do some nice things for yourself, too, like baths by candlelight...
;-)
No I am gonna look into that! Thank you! I should be able to order that online right??

Yes! :-D
I really think it will help you to stay encouraged and appreciative of the normal process...
It's great to pay attention, but at some point we need to back down a bit so we don't make ourselves have real complications.
You are okay for the moment and will see your doctor soon. Try to breathe deeply until then!
Hugs, my sweet friend!! :-)

Quoting doulala:
Just as a woman’s heart knows,
How and when to pump,
Her lungs to inhale,
And her hand to pull back from fire,
So she knows when and how to give birth.
