I'm 14 weeks along with my second child and my belly is already as large as I was when I was 20 weeks along with my first. Is this normal? My first child was very large and I had to have a c-section because of 'failure to progress' after 2 1/2 weeks overdue and no sign of baby droping or my cervix dialating. They're going to let me try for a VBAC but are considering me high-risk.
What's the chance my baby will be as big or bigger then my first? Or is it too early to tell? I just feel so large already that I'm afraid I'm going to have an 11 pounder in there!
This is my first, so I don't really know what to say. .
But EVERYONE I know has said that they started showing WAY more with their second, third, fourth earlier on than their first! And their babies were not necessarily bigger than first time around, your body just knows what to do and how to stretch now.
Yes, this is normal you show sooner with subsequent pregnancies the baby is most likely the same size it should be however your body is recognizing the process and therefore it relaxes the muscles and allows you to feel the sensations of pregnancy sooner. You will most likely feel the kicking and fluttering sooner than a first time mom also. (These are facts my MW's and childbirth educator shared with me)

You usually start to show sooner and get bigger with your second pregnancy and on. That being said, it isn't true for every woman, just on average. I thought I was a lot bigger with this pregnancy early on than I was with my first but now I am nowhere near as big as I was with my first haha! I hope everything goes wonderful for you and I hope your VBAC is a huge success!!
Quoting Brittany.Dann:Lets see some pics!
Here are the pictures lol. Top one is me 14 weeks with my second (please don't mind the stretch marks! Having a 10 pound baby 13 months ago kinda ruined me!!). The bottom picture is me at 22 weeks with my first.

And thanks for all your replies. It gives me hope that a VBAC could be in my future :)
Normally each baby is bigger, but you still should be able to have a successful VBAC. Have you already had an u/s? If so they should tell you about how big the baby is. I know it's a guestmate, but it'll kinda give you a little bit of an idea. My u/s tech was right on the money with my son.
I had an u/s 8 weeks ago to determine how far along we were because it had taken 2 months to get a positive test result. I haven't had a dr appointment since (my next one is scheduled for tomorrow). They are going to be keeping more of an eye on this one because they don't know why my son was so large (I'm a small lady and a big baby was torture on my body). As of right now, they aren't sure how big this one will be. With my son, they estimated him to be around 7 pounds but he came out 10 lol.

Yes here I go again LOL. I'm 12 weeks and look the size of my belly hahaha. My DD say I'm having an alien because this was an instant pregnancy LOL.
