I actually use dried lavender in a sachet where I live they sell them at Trader Joes by know some women that make their own.  You can get the lavender in bulk inexpensively at natural stores and even put in an old sock and tie a knot.

I wash Brian's stuff in Dreft and use Bounce fabric sheets when drying it.

I normally have Snuggle,  but do you need a certain kind for the baby?

you don't, just be careful cuz some babies are VERY sensative to perfumed stuff...my kids still are

We use all unscented detergent and snuggle unscented. I have super sensitive skin and DH started getting skin allergies too. So it works for us :)

I use the costco brand fabric softener.. Other than a specific Downey smell (Lavendar or something), it's the one I prefer b/c I love the smell! Tho I haven't used it w/baby clothes..
