Fun question: did your pets figure it out before you?
So I have read that animals can "sense" the change in hormones when you get preggo and that their behavior may change when they sense this change. We have these 2 kitties that we found abandoned as newborns when I was preggo with my DD. They LOVED lounging on my growing belly. Since the baby came, they are a little aloof. They love to be petted still, but on their terms. They won't come to you and jump on your lap if you call them. Well, I am preggo again and in the week or so before I got my BFP both kitties became very social and would jump up on my lap uninvited or with just a little tap on my knee. I would joke with DH that they must know something I don't... Did anyone else with pets notice different behavior?
We have a male Pit Bull who would always jump up and give me kisses when I would get home from work...He must have known I was preggers before me because all the sudden, when I would come home he would walk up to me sorta scared like. He would come to me but I couldn't get him to jump on me and he was very cautious (he acted like I beat him or something--like he was afraid of me!) I found out several weeks later that I was preggers (I was on birth control and didn't know for quite some time) So yeah, I do think animals know a bit more that we do, they have amazing senses!
I didn't notice any strange behavior until recently actually.. One of my cats is being very lovey w/me and I don't like it (I'm not a cat person and when I'm pregnant cats just make it hard to breathe when they're in my face).. I think my dogs have also begun to sense something; my mini doxie has become more attatched to me. She tends to lay around me seemingly to guard me or watch over me.. I think she knows somethings coming.
That is too funny! Our male Pit is the same way! He used to always sprawl across my lap to sleep but now even when I call him to do so, he'll only put his head on me.
