WATER BIRTH...what's your opinion??

I have been doing research on water birth's and the pro's and con's of it... I am excited and think this would be good for me. I am a little nervous however becasue this is my first child and I don't know what to expect.

What is your opinion on water birth's???

I think it's great. I had to have a c-section with DS and will probably have to have another one with this LO, but I think if you can handle the pain and want to try a water birth, more power to ya.

I would LOVE to have a water birth, but I have never been able to give birth in a place that will do one :( I would say, if you can then go for it!!

Put a pillow or something in the tub to it on!! I am very soothed by water but when I was in active labor sitting on my but was painful. Unfortunately they wouldn't let me get on my hands and knees either so I just got out!!

I am not really sure there are any "cons" of water birth. It helps greatly with pain relief, and comfort measures for the mother. On top of that, it is a less traumatic entrance to the world for the baby.

No cons as pp mentioned... better for baby and felt awesome. My little guy was born in the tub at home 2 years ago TODAY!! big smile mini

I can't deliver naturally but I think water births are amazing!

I would give ANYTHING to build the guts to do a waterbirth. I think it is amazing.. But honestly. I am the WORST and dealing with pain. I am a huge baby, and i want that epidural!!!
