I'm not realy sure what to tell you. But If it is labor I'm sure that you will find out as the time goes by.. I think its the only way to know for sure.. I would keep track of the contractions for a while and see how things progress.. Good luck momma! Hope you figure this out!
Im sorry im not really sure. When I went into labor the night before i had really bad back pain, loose BM and went potty all the time, starving but my body wouldnt let me eat, and really uncomfortable (like figitty and such). the next morning my water broke and i found out i was fully dilated when i got to the hospital half hour later.
if you want it to speed up try this tip. im not a doc or anything, but from my pregnancy experience and from research it may help....
i know others tell you to walk alot and have sex to speed up labor, but rarely you hear about squatting before labor. you hear about it during though. well before i had DS i started to squat all the time. i didnt have a ball to use, so what i did was sit on the VERY edge of my bed (with your woohoo hanging off lol) and then i would roll my hips round and round, back and forth, side to side. what that does it helps the baby slid down more into the birth canal. when the baby starts to rest on the cervix it send a signal to open and thin. i did the squatting for about a few day and had DS 39 wks 2 days. im not sure if my body was just ready or if the squatting helped. but its worth a shot to try. keep us updated and good luck!!!
I dont really know, if it is labor its early labor, I have about 7 contractions in a hour all the time. If you have about 12-14/hr I would say its definitely labor. But my back and hips have been hurting so bad for the last couple days and its because she dropped. So maybe the baby dropped??
Time it. Mine started like that, they were coming about every 10 min or so. That kept up from about 10 pm to 6 am, then I got a 2 hr break, and then it started up for real and progressed into active labor.
Whatever you do, DON'T go to L&D. Not yet. Even if you are in labor, it's early stages yet. If you go now, you'll be there forever, and that's not fun. Plus, as soon as you step in the door at most hospitals, you're on the clock, and if things don't go as fast as they like, they'll tell you it's failure to progress, start loading you up with pitocin (so there's your induction, anyway), and if that doesn't work tell you that you "need" a c-section. Try to stay home as long as you can, that's really your best bet. You'll be more comfortable, and (big bonus), you can eat whatever the hell you want. LOL.
