On March 15th I noticed around 4:30pm that my contractions were getting more regular. I started timing them and they were still about 10 minutes apart but they were slowly getting closer together. Around 10pm they were finally at 4 minutes apart so I called the dr on call twice with no answer within two hours. Around 12:30 the contractions seemed to lighten up so I decided to try and get some sleep and I would call my drs office in the morning when they opened and see what they wanted me to do. I woke up in the morning a little upset to find that the contractions were once again sporadic. I waited until after 9am when my drs office was open and they told me to come in and be checked out. When I got there I was 3cm dilated and instead of the dr sending me home to wait and with fears of my last labor only lasting 2 hours she decided to just send me straight to the hospital to get induced. We went to the hospital and got registered and waited to be taken up to Labor and Delivery. I walked all the way up there and once they got me into the room and all the monitors and my information into the computer it was around 12:30ish when they started the pitocin. Around 1pm my doctor broke my water. After a while I was dilated to 4cm. The contractions proceeded to get stronger and closer together and by the time I was 6cm dilated I asked for some IV pain medications. They didn't give me much but it was enough to help me sleep a little bit. The only thing was it stopped my contractions completely for about 10 minutes. Then around 5pm I was feeling a lot of pressure and the contractions were one on top of the other. The dr checked me and I was only 7 almost 8cm dilated. He went over to the office to get my paperwork while I was finishing dilated, but when he got back there was still no progress and I was crying with the contractions because Logan was putting pressure on my cervix that was refusing to dilate. He was ready but my cervix wasn't. The dr then told me we could force it if I pushed through the contractions. After about 10 minutes we finally had the cervix to 10cm and we were ready for the real pushing to begin. I had already been pushing so it was def very hard to keep it up. As soon as they turned the mirror so I could see that his head was coming gave me the extra energy to push more. After some pushing and only a local anesthetic, Logan Connor arrived at 6:43pm!
