Is this a stupid concern?

I'm not sure if this is something I should be worried about or not. WHen I was preggers almost 4 years ago with dd we had friends who were also expecting. They didn't have sex for 2-3 weeks and the night she went into labor they had finally had sex that day. Well dh and I have had sex about once a week. I'm just not feeling sex at all this pregnancy. Well dh is going away for 2 weeks from my 36th-38th week. Can not having sex for 2 weeks make me go into labor? I know it sounds stupid can that make me go into labor sooner than I should? I don't want to do anything that will start labor sooner than it should, but I just don't know. I know how stupid this sounds, but I didn't know how a body reacts to something like that. With dd we had sex 3-4 times a week so it would never have been a concern, but can such a long time period make a difference? We can wait if we need too.

Not having sex shouldn't effect labor. It's the opposite. Sperm causes the cervix to soften and having an orgasm can stimulate contractions.

no, lack of sex will not induce labor, quite the opposite. Sex, especially orgasms  create contractions, having sex is the #1 thing to do to help get labor going.

I mean sex does help get things going but normally only if your ready anyway. If he comes back when you are 38 wks and you have sex and go into labor be happy LOL

I mean when he gets back. Sorry. Like will not having sex for 2 plus weeks and then finally having sex again when he gets back cause labor?

You can have as much sex as you want, it prepares your cervix and helps sofften it but the thing is, if the baby isn't ready its not gonna happen... Not having sex for a period of time then having sex one day is not going hurt you or make you go into labor.

If it were to put you into labor that means that your body and your baby were both ready for birth to occur, NOTHING not even medical induction can make an unwilling body go into labor too early.  So if you do go into labor that just means it is time for your baby to be born and nothing else.  The only time it is a worry is if you have preterm labor and they tell you not to have sex at all.
