Litter Boxes

My DH will be leaving for a little over a month soon and we have two cats and two litter boxes. Do any of you ladies change your litter boxes? I know that there's a parasite in a cats poop that can harm the baby. Can a cat be tested to see if they have the parasite or not? My cats are fixed and declawed and definitely are not outside cats. Any advice or information would be much appreciated = ) I just cant let the litter boxes go for over a month you know? (yuck)

If you have had the cats for a long time and if they are not out door cats, there is very little to worry about.  If you are really worried about it, you can get a mask and wear gloves when you clean out the boxes.

Its Toxoplasmosis.

Doc told me the danger is highest in the first trimester.

Wear gloves and put your shirt over your nose and mouth while cleaning it, and wash hands afterwards... as long as none gets into your mouth it's fine.

You can be tested to see if you have had Toxoplasmosis before.  It is a simple blood draw.  I would just wear gloves and wash your hands after changing the litter.
