Did you get wheeled out in a wheel chair when you were discharged? I always see new moms getting wheeled out and wanted to know why that is lol?

I did with my first.....but I had a very tramatic birth and I couldn't stand up.....lol....for weeks.

With my second, I walked out.

I didn't have to. I am surprised they didn't because they treated me terrible the whole time I was there, and for them to not make me do something I didn't want was interesting.  I carried my daughter in her car seat down from floor 4 and to the car, while they trailed my butt so they could make sure I had the car seat in right. (I did. They were upset that they didn't get to show me how, the nurses sucked at that hospital)

yah--   stupid liability.

Overall, you may notice that hospital birthing (like all things hospital-related) is generally perceived like a risky procedure/dangers waiting to happen (the Medical Model).   Most things are under the What-If category, lol.

( Bummer--       birth is normal. )

You could sign a waiver...

Yep, both times. I think that anytime you are discharged from the hospital, they wheel you out.

I walked out with my son! My step dad pushed the cart full of gifts, and my mom carried my son in his car seat.

Nope. They asked me if I wanted to, but I could walk fine so I didn't see the point.
