Question about a Name..

My husband and I both like the name Seneca. We have both only known boys with the name Seneca and never any girls. We were considering using the name Seneca Matthew Moore for a boy..but then when I look it up I find that it is a girls name? I know it isn't that popular of a name either way but have you only heard of it used for girls? Or have you also heard of boys being named it? I'm beginning to think my husband and I are the only ones!

I've only heard it used for a girl, but the "original" Seneca was a Roman philosopher (and a boy). I think it was actally his last name.

It s a pretty name.

Thanks--who knows if we will change our minds. We have both liked that name a lot though since before we were pregnant. :-D

Since Seneca is an uncommon name then the ppl meeting your son will asociate the name w/ males...I've heard the name Logan w/ girls more then boys so its more of a girls name for me

The only person I knew with the name Seneca was a girl.
