AMA Moms... (Advanced Maternal Age)

I had my first child at 32 years old.  I'm now pregnant again and fall under the AMA category.  Any moms out there can tell me what to expect differently?

Thanks!

I had my daughter when I was 28.  I am now pregnant with her brother at 32.  I wish I would have started younger but you can't force life to happen on your terms.  Am I AMA????

I am considered the same thing. I had my youngest one at 30 and so far the only thing different for me was the 20 wk ultrasound I had. It was just a more in depth ultrasound since I didn't get the screening at 13 wks for the amniotic test. I am now 24 wks and this pregnancy seems a lot more easier for me than the last one. Except of course this stupid cough that I have had for 3 weeks that refuses to go away. My ribs hurt so bad becuz of it.

I would have my next child at "AMA."   But I haven't had one yet...

If I have more I will likely be pushing or over forty and would choose a homebirth for sure!

I'm 35 - just over the age limit - all that was different is that they offered to make the 20 week anatomy scan a "level 2" (that is more detailed) U/S - which I turned down (wasn't in the mood to drive 2 hours to the city for that).

I also did the "quadruple" scan (2 blood tests, one u/s) and all came back fine.

I was AMA for both my DD's.  Was 35 for first one and 36 for the second.  I am not sure what is done differently since I was "AMA" for both, but I did have the 20 week ultrasound and the quad scan also.
