Honestly I wouldn't think twice about a boy OR a girl named Brinley.  It really sounds completely unisex to me.  Some names that are unisex or even gender-specific really sound like they fit one or the other better.  Like Tristan, Ashley, Bailey... all are boys' names, but they have a definate feminine sound to me.

I would think Girl immediately.  Even though it's universal, I don't think of a boy at all...

Most names ending with 'Ley just sound girly to me. Finley, Henley, Brinley, etc.

Me too. I just went through a bunch of "ley" names for boys and they all seem kind feminine to me. http://www.thinkbabynames.com/ending/1/ley

I actually laughed out loud at the name "Brockley", lol!
