what is something that you wish you knew as a new mom that you would love our new mom's to know for their first child! Or even if it's your second/third etc!

It's better to leave the room and put the baby in a safe place if you get upset/frustrated!

Pure vanilla extract does just as good a job as baby orajel - AND it helps soothe his/her stomach when it's upset from swallowing all that drool.

Taking five minutes to yourself is NOT something to feel guilty about - even though no matter how much you tell yourself that, chances are, you will anyway.  But it is okay to take some extra time in the shower, or to lay in bed that extra few minutes.

Don't panic every time your child falls down, knocks his/her head, gets a scrape, etc... Nine times out of ten the only reason your child will get upset after a mishap is because YOU are upset - and that's scary!  Stay calm, laugh it off, and you'll have an easier time of things.

You are a mom - but that is not all you are.  It's not only okay, but necessary to celebrate who you are as a woman, friend, daughter, wife, etc.

Let the little things go, and enjoy!

make up a basket with the phone, paper, pen, a book or what ever it is you like to do, the remote, water and keep it handy by you so when you are feeding baby or holding sleeping baby you don't have to get up to get everything.  Also keeping a few diapers and wipes in the main rooms helps from having to always go get some.  When baby is first born it's nice to just relax and take it easy in recovery and if you don't have help around this is a great suggestion.  I also agree with pp sleep when baby sleeps.

That oatmeal even in the form of cookies helps your milk supply when breastfeeding!

Hold you baby as often as you want and don't forget to smile, even at 4am! It goes by too fast, don't waste that precious time "training" your baby to be independent!
