Baby Hiccups! -piog-

Hi Ladies! I was wondering if any of you have felt the little ones in your belly getting the hiccups? I felt them for the first time around 27 weeks, and randomly since then. The last 3 nights though I know he has gotten them and I know he had them for a short period of time earlier.I don't think he's very fond of them. He starts squirming all around when he gets them, and I feel bad for him because they usually last around 15 minutes or so. Its really neat to feel them though, and I was just wondering if anyone else was feeling them as often as I am, or if anyone knows how often they normally get them? Thanks!

Yep mine has the hiccups a lot. It makes me feel uneasy, but at least I know he's doing alright in there. :)

Mine get them almost daily. Its a good sign. They believe the contracting of the lungs...or hiccuping... helps strengthen the diaphram and lungs to be able to breathe on their own when born. So the more your baby has them, the more they are strengthening their lungs.

Oh and starting at 27 weeks or so is when some major lung development starts.

When I was pg with dd she got them everyday at least 4 times a day. I felt horrible for her too.

LOL thanks I knew that. I've been having contractions and went to the hospital because of them, and they gave me a steroid shot that was supposed to help his lungs develop more, so that might also be why he's hiccuping more now. That just came to me, but I'm glad to know they are working!

I've never felt it yet and I'm 26 weeks! I'm hoping to feel it. I love feeling him kick and move!
