A month before I got pregnant I was around 112... at my 8 week apointment I weighted 114.6... at my 13 week apointment I was 116... I have my 19 weel appointment tomorrow and decided to step on the scale last night I was 118.8.... so ive gained roughly 5-6 pounds. I read a few places and heard from a few people that y now I should have gained 10-12 pounds... is there like a "list" or scale of how much you "should" gain by certain points? How much had you gained by your 19th week? This is my first pregnancy and I have no idea...

It really depends on the person. An average woman with a healthy body weight generally gains around 25- 35lbs. Women who are a bit underweight tend to gain more, and women who are overweight tend to gain less. But it is really circumstantial. As long as you are eating healthy foods whenever you are hungry, you have nothing to worry about. Your body will tell you if you need more.

i was told that pregnant women should gain about 3-5 lbs during the 1st trimester and then 1-2 lbs each week during the 2nd and 3rd trimesters. of course it varies depending on if you start out underweight, normal, or overweight.

Exactly.  I am a bit overweight, and had lost 15lbs from pre-pregnancy weight.  A month ago, I has gained 3 of those back, but haven't gained more.  Your body will do what it sees as healthy, as long as you're caring for yourself.

You're body will gain what it needs. Just eat healthy and take care of yourself and don't worry about the numbers :)

As long as your Doc is ok with your weight gain and baby is where it should be in weight that is all that matters the other stuff is just the standards and well we all know not ever pregnancy is standard.  So far this pregnancy, I'm 21 weeks, I have lost 15 pounds, baby weighs what it should and baby gets its nutrients and energy from you no matter what that is what all those stored fat cells are good for.  My doctor wasn't concerned at all and actually told me not to worry about trying to gain it back, so it just depends on you and your body pretty much.
