What could cause protein in the urine without high blood pressure?

There are a couple of reasons to have protein in your urine.  Protein alone doesn't mean pre-e...just like JUST high blood pressure wouldn't mean pre-e.  It is a combination of symptoms that make up that diagnoses.

It means you need to increase your protein intake. I have had trace protein once or twice and my midwife told me to up my protein intake. Pregnant women need 80grams a day.

Yeah, that too!  It sounds odd, but if you spill protein it might mean you need to be eating more!
