birth control while nursing

My son is five so I wasn't sure if there were any more options that breastfeeding mama's might have now. It was pretty much depo or the mini pill. Too many horror stories of depo from family members so i tried the mini pill. I did nothing but cry on it for no reason so I stopped taking it. My doctor said i must be sensitive to the hormones in most birth controls. I really liked the yasmin that I took between pregnancies but it made it really hard for me to get pregnant...it was like my body stopped doing what it was supposed to. I was just wondering if there are anything new out that nursing mothers can take.
