I just ran across this type of birth control and I hadn't heard of it before so I was curious to see if anyone else had heard of it or has it done.

I heard of it just the other day.  When I asked my doc about getting my tubes taken care of he said they don't do it anymore they do Essure.  Just not sure yet how I feel about it since it seems to be fairly new.

I have seen it in my obs office but i am not opting for that. With my PCOS i am afraid it will make things too painful for me.

Just to be clear, it's not really a birth control.  It's the equivalent of getting your tubes tied.  The insert coils into your fallopian tubes and in a few months tissue grows around the coils, therefore blocking off your tubes.  It is non-reversable.

I am planning on getting it done in the next 2-3mos.

Also, it's been around for 10 years or so, so it's not THAT new.

my dr gave me a booklet on it but the only thing my insurance would cover was a tubal. they put a coil in ur tubes and over 4-6 months it scars over. you then have to go back in for a test to make sure it scared properly.
