Have you considered names from your family heritage?

Have you considered a name from yours (or SO) family heritage for baby?

Were using Albin for our sons middle name. I couldn't care less if people don't aprove. It's my great grandfathers name.... He came from Sweden to Ellis Island. The name is special to us.

Do you have any old family names you're using? Where do they come from?

For a girl I wanted Evelyn Rose because Evelyn is my great grandmother's name and Rose is my best friend's middle name.

Since the baby is a boy dipshit wants to know him Henry Robbinson because Henry is his great grandfather, grandfather, and uncle's name and Robbinson is his Uncle and cousin's middle name (they go by Robbie).  Now I don't hink I want to do that anymore.  I don't want a baby to have his father's family names when I'm the one that's going to be raising him.

There was only one name I really liked in my family's history, which was Nicholas Orazzio (who I believe was my great, great grandfather), but it doesn't go with our last name and I can't see myself naming a baby that. In general though, I"m not a big fan of family names. I actually persuaded my husband out of family names, we wanted to name our sons after his (still living and often visiting) brother and father, plus a junior.
