Gestational Diabetes at only 10 1/2 weeks pregnant.

Well got my blood results back today and there is no need to even do the 3 hour glucose test because mine was 196 when they like to see it between 100 and 120. Yay for me. I will hopefully be able to meet with someone who can help me with meal planning cause I just ate the same thing over and over the first time and that was only the last 2 months.  I have 30 more weeks of trying to eat the way I need to.  I am so bummed.

It was hard for me to eat right but I did it I had a few slip ups but other than that I was fine my son is healthy and he is now 1 so I know you can do it just keep your mind on your baby and tell your self you need to do this for the baby. If you need anyone to talk to I am here for you

yah with my first pregnancy I gained the recommended 25 lbs right on the dot. And there is a possibility that I may be borderline diabetic anyway but wont know until baby is born.  They did a test to see how my levels have been controlled over the last 3 months(not sure how it works) and that came back within normal range.  This pregnancy is so much more complicated then my 1st.  I have to be on progesterone and now I am have GD.  I am so frustrated. I am waiting to hear back from the doctor to see what the next plan of action is.  Most likely starting at 32 weeks I will have weekly appts. Once every 2 weeks with the OBGYN, and then another to do the Non-stress test.  Along with more ultrasounds to make sure baby is growing appropriately(only plus) and then I will probably have to see the diabetes specialist twice a month too. Not sure.

Don't be sad, just think of it as you're gonna just have to work a little harder to ensure a healthy baby. I have it too and its hard to start a new diet but very doable and just make sure you get plenty of excersise. :) you'll be okay mama.

How did you find out so early? If you dont need the 3 hour that means you already had the 1 hour right. I thought they didnt even offer that until almost 30 weeks.
