36 weeks with my 3rd and getting sharp stinging pain in my cervix

I have never felt this stinging pain in my previous pregnancies. I have had a stabbing pain but not stingy. I can tell my son has dropped(unlike my first two) because I can breath and he is not moving the same almost like he's stuck. I have read it could mean your dilating. I am having a c-section in 3 weeks and have an appointment next Friday so I will talk to my doctor.

Have you had this pain before? Did it mean you were dilating?

I had that pain during my whole third trimesters. My babies were always positioned very low, causing nerve pain. If you think you are experiencing cervical change and it concerns you, definitely call your doctor in the am.

I had the with all three. My first two I was checked and yes I was dilating. With my last we never checked, we both knew what it meant and no reason to be checking.

I know I am not going to be checked because I am having a c-section but I will definately talk to my doctor.

My cervix won't dilate fully because I have severe scarring so I am not too concerned.

I had this and asked my doctor they told me it was because my baby is breech the sharp stabing pains in my vaginal region were not a different type of contraction or dilating like I had thought but that she had fliped from being in birth possition to breech.

this feeling is caused by her kicking down on my cervix.  It is really not fun

I get the stabbing shooting pains and I am dilated to a 2, or I was 2 weeks ago at 34 weeks.
