How far along are you? Always ask your doctor before exercising, but my doctor said the treadmill or eliptical is safe, as long as I keep my heart rate below 140 (beats per minute). But I normally don't exercise, so that maybe the reason my doc said that. If your body is used to exercising, normally it is pretty safe....but again, make sure you ask your doctor.

Walking is great excercise, with my daughter taking two walks a day kept me from gaining too much weight like I did with my son. I also did prenatal pilates, they have videos that you can do and it is broken up into each trimester, so that you are not doing anything that you shouldn't in each trimester. Maybe pick some pregnancy excercise videos up (there should even be some at your local library, if you don't want to buy them before you try them), and ask the doctor if they are ok to use.
