so i had an ultrasound today cuz my aapt yesterday showed i waas
measuring 3 weeks ahead. During the ultrasound today they were
able to find out gender. Omg im soooooo happy. Mom was right.
She was too proper back during the 20 week ultrasound to show
herself. Lol.
Bad news, there is too much fluid in one of her kidneys. Could be as
simple as reflux or an infection, or itt can be a small chance or
downs syndrome. I got another ultrasound in 1 month to keep an
eye on it though. Im so scared. Ive never heard of this. Has anyone
else? Wat was the outcome?

haven't heard of that.. but this is my first pregnancy. I will say a quick prayer though! Just be calm.. Whatever is going to happen, will happen. and God has a plan! Don't bring on the extra stress of worrying too much!!! I hope everything turns out alright!

Dilated Kidneys can be normal and go away too. My son's did. I have never heard of it being infection in utero.

All you can do is hope and pray for the best. Don't worry yourself over it too much because you could make yourself (and the baby!!!) sick. Just keep taking care of yourself and everything will be ok. But hey, even if it isn't, there is ALWAYS more than enough support around here to help you get through a tough time.

I know quite a few pregnant women who's baby had too much fluid on one kidney...they were never told down syndrome though.  Often they grow out of it before birth but if not, they often do a simple surgery to fix it.  Out of all the problems, they kidney is a better one to have than some as you have 2 kidneys and can live with just one working well...

I don't know about the kidneys thing, but I have figured out one thing.  Doctor's nowadays say that EVERYTHING is a sign of Down's Syndrome!  They scare women constantly.  The doctors here told my friend that there was a 95% chance that her baby had Down's based on her ultrasound because of fluid on the baby's spine or something.  She got freaked out and depressed and her family got upset and all that... her baby was perfectly fine.  Then, in my baby's ultrasound there was a tiny "spot" on her heart that they said could mean Down's and I had to go to a specialist bla bla bla, nothing was wrong and the spot had disappreared by her next US.  I'm just saying, doctor's seem to like throwing around the Down's threat a lot so don't take it too seriously until you have more information.
