With my first I was too ignorant about the whole process to be afraid of anything, and found out that it wasn't that bad. I'm really only nervous about if the baby is healthy or not, other then that- I don't worry about it, just take things as they come.
I have actually done a little bit of reading on Dr. Dick-Read's theory on what he called the Fear-Tension-Pain syndrome. He stated that to give birth without fear is to give birth without pain, or at least very limited pain.
For me, knowledge is power and if I can know every possible outcome that makes a situation less scary. So I've been reading pretty much everything I can get my hands on as well as asking people lots of questions.

I think that is probably true, and might be why giving birth isn't too painful for me- I've always said I'd rather give birth every day for 9 months then go through the pregnancy, which can be a bit rough for me. The best advice I got before going into labor was 'don't fight it, go with it and just breathe'- I've remembered that with all 4 births and it's so helpful.

Oh I have worried about that one too! I didn't want my son to leave the room after he was born, lol!
Quoting SwannK:having to be alone .. if my husband couldnt be with me.. and c-section.. I stayed home until the very last minute to avoid both of those things...
I can't imagine doing it without my husband either- definitely a fear.
