No home made cupcakes allowed???

So for every holiday my DD's school does a little party and invites parents for lunch. We have a sign up sheet and everyone picks something to bring. I signed up for cupcakes Bc I had a new recipe I wanted to try and when I mention that the director tells me "I'm sorry but we don't allow home made cupcakes, everything must be pre-packaged and store bought". Really? What about the parents that bring the meats or rice and stuff? Ur telling me they store buy the pork and chicken made already? What happened to bake sales and home made food with no preservatives and all the junk all these pre-made things come with. So no fresh baked cupcakes for the kids. Instead I think I'll be bringing fruit... Pre packaged of corse! I understand safety but this is WAY out of hand!

Would this bother u?

Exactly. That's what I think. I even went as far as saying I could list ALL the ingredients on the container and stuff. This is just not the way kids should be raised! Store bought cupcakes... Ughh

Seriously, who's to say that store bought cupcakes dont have something dangerous in them??

I worked in a preschool and they were much the same way only allowing store bought items.

This unfortunately becoming more and more common. I hate it. I don't want my kid pumped with junk food all the time but the occasional birthday or class party is fine. Let the kids have some fun.

1 mom liked this
I Know in my state the health department only allows food being served to the public to be made by people w food licenses. Theres been situations where one bad egg can make a whole lot of people sick.
