So all day I have felt a little 'uncomfortable' near my ... cough cough... anus. At first I thought perhaps it was chaffing from the first time wearing a thong since pregnant (trying to muster up some Valentine's foreplay). I just figured it would pass and the pain felt like when elastic is on your skin for awhile.
Well, after a few hours and minimal relief, even when removing the underwear I thought, "Crap... when I was attempting to shave around my preggo belly and blindly trim the lady parts I must have nicked something... grrr". As the night progressed I couldn't help but think... man, if I had cut myself wouldnt' I have felt it?
So, I bared all and reached my finger around to feel if there was something going on. In shock I felt something 'new' down there. Only the size of a small pea, tender to the touch but soft like anal tissue was this new little lump. Not terribly painful but raw and itchy... inflammed by my underwear?
I looked up Hermorrhoids after having treated patients at the hospital with topical cream but never thought you could just 'get one'. I haven't strained or anything!? So here is my frantic slew of questions (Mind you I am 23 weeks pregnant).
- Will it go away?
- What topical creams or remedies can I use to minimize this thing?
- Can I still poop? Masturbate? Have sex?
- Is this common or is this another sick trick on me?
- Can I still give birth naturally? Is this a 'risk of some kind'?
- AHHHHHHHHH Advice?
Just learned you can dab WitchHazel on the location, use wet wipes instead of dry toilet paper, dab Aloe on the location and even a cool ice pack! I'm going to do ALL of these so I don't have to sneak buying cream and it 'should' be minimalized in a week or so (according to text).
Any further thoughts? Advice? I also need to up my fiber intake too... though I've always been one to poop every 4 days and though I dont' strain... it's always been a concern of my parents even when I was young. Guess pregnancy brings out the best in us? lol
Witch hazel and flushable wet wipes. I also use a cream, but mine are inside so, I have to.
GL and I hope it goes away.
try minty tooth paste, just dont double dip.just have one for those occassions, i'm 34 weeks pregnant and have been having the same problem, tooth paste worked for me.
Is it on your butt hole? Sorry, that's just the best way to ask it. Or is it somewhere else? It could be an ingrown hair or be caused from the thong. If it is a hemorrhoid it is not a big deal. Try not to wipe to hard. It will probably go away on it's own in a few days. You can try a hemorrhoid cream or tucks pads, just gently pat the area with the pad. You can still do everything normal, it won't last forever or have any affect on your birth.
Happy valentines to me....
I think it all depends on the person. Mine were awful during my pregnancy. As soon as it was gone it seemed to come back. I got a prescription for protocosol that worked great. They are probably going to come back until the baby is born and maybe even after. You can and should still poop. Dont hold it in, it will only make the hemmroids worse. You can have sex but it might be a little uncomfortable. If you just noticed it today, its probably going to get a lot more painful, they last for like a week or two and they get bigger and harder, they may even start to bleed and then its going to be very itchy for a few days.
Yes it will go away, sometimes not till after birth. Some still have them after birth for sometime. Mine always go away after birth.
I use raw potato on mine. I put the potato in the fridge so it is also a cool pack too. I cut about 1/4 inch thick and place it on there area 15-20 mins on and off through out the day. Depending on how much I need it. With my last I had one really bad one. I tried everything and nothing was working. So I finally did this and was surprised in 2 hours the pain was going away. Within a week it was gone.
Yes you can still poop and other things. Just try not to strain when pooping.
Yes it is common.
Yes you can give birth naturally, there is not risk at all.
I have one that I have had since my last pregnancy (my daughter is 2 and a half). I'll need to have it removed. Often they'll go away on their own after your pregnancy, but sometimes not.
You aren't prohibited from anything you asked about. It may get bigger before the end of your pregnancy, or it may not.
I still have mine from my pregnancies. My youngest now being four years old. I should get stock in Prep H. I use their hemorrhoid suppositories at night to help with irritation and use the prep ointment before using the bathroom and after words use the prep cooling gel. LOL! The witch hazel wipes are good too. Sometimes I will soak in the tub if they are bothering me or if they are really bad take a pain pill (something you can't do atm)
Drink a lot of water try to move around a lot, keep your BM regular if possible. Dont eat corn or nuts or anything else that doesnt digest all the way. You can still do everything you can do as long as you are comfortable with it.
