He wants to keep her options open but we can't afford private school and public schools in our area just suck. The school I am thinking of putting her in does approx 10% better (if not more) on every state test that the students receive.
As a mother I am completly fine (and kinda happier) with the thought of my dd never going to the military at all but I know that is a decision she would make for herself one day. Am I wrong for wanting better schooling for her in hopes that she does something, anything other than the military or should I rule out charter schools completly just Bc it eliminate that 1 option compared to all the others a charter school can offer.
***So for those of u that don't know here's a quick summary... A charter school is like the middle line between public and private schools. They r funded with public money so they r free but they offer different methods of learning and are much smaller so children r said to receive more one on one attention. If a charter school isn't up to par with public schools then it is closed and this one has been around for years.
Congratulations on finding a school with such great test scores! We are also a military family and have found issues with where we want our kids to go to school. Luckily we found a private school that is affordable but the issue starts when we get restationed again which is what you should consider. You're right that the military should be her own choice and mama I understand what you mean when you hope they do something else. But your concern should be with the present and what is best for her now. Can she transfer from a charter school to a public or private school (since that may be the only option depending on where you get restationed)? The future is always changing. And the "best" education is hard to find sometimes. Make the decision that will be best right now and still work for the next few years. Good luck with your choice!

So worse comes to worse can't she graduate from a charter school, and then get a GED if she really wants to join the military, or do military personel need a HSD? I am not up on the requirements for enlistment... ?
If the military doesn't accept it, they have a test- seperate from the ASVAB- that will show that she is intelligent, without going to and "accreditted" or however they put it school. My cousin's husband just went through this, because he went to a private Christian school.

Id never put any of my children in anything other than a public school. Kids there CAN revieve more one on one attention, they just have to ask for it. IMO, charter schools or for kids from spoiled families.

It is a public school though, technically right? Especially since it's government-funded and must meet their requirements/
