Evening Primrose Oil!?

Okay so I was always the type who told myself ill let my baby boy Aiden come when he's ready *no trying to force him out* but my blood pressure has been crazy this pregnancy so my OB wants to induce me at 39 weeks. I DO NOT want to be induced! Soooo, I have started looking into things that will help progress my body *currently 35 weeks and no effacement or dialation* I was reading into EPO

My question is, is it better to take epo orally, vaginally, or use the oil?
Do any of you have experience with using it?

I see you are weighing risks here--
IMO, it's very important to truly understand the details of the possible complication before wanting to do any intervening (whether home remedies or full-force induction drugs).
You'd said not really/OB thinks, so I would encourage you to get more info on this before pressing on.

The risks with induction are big, might be bigger than what your baby is currently going through.   So insist your doctor provides what you are entitled to for Informed Consent.

The EPO is not dangerous, but what is bringing you to want to use it could be.

Best wishes!

I've only used EPO while TTCing so I'm of no major help, but I've heard you can take it either way and it should help over time. Maybe do a week of oral then after 36wks do oral and vaginal?  Or trade off both?  I think it's only effects is to help soften up your cervix, which will make things easier if you do end up having to induce. GL.

Yes I don't wanna be on pitocin at NO progress. I want some type of effacement/dialation.

Yeah, I wanted to have a natural birth no epidural and everything but if I am going to be on pitocin then I doubt ill be able to have a natural birth this is my first and my ob has always seemed careful about what she does because she knows how I feel about all those.

How serious is this, considered IUGR?
Before jumping into any form of induction (force) it's worth considering baby's condition.

There are more/less gentle routes to induce in/out of the hospital, knowing which route is safest depends on baby.
