Does it really "pop" overnight?

I keep hearing people say that their bump "popped" overnight. I'm curious, does that actually happen, or is it more gradual? And if it did happen to you, did you go from completely flat to having a bump or from a small bump to being more pregnant looking?
I'm 16 weeks and I think I'm still waiting for it to happen, because my belly is totally flat in the mornings still, and I can suck everything in still. It just takes a little more effort, and I can't do it as long as before if I tried to suck it in to hide a really full stomach or something pre pregnacy.

It can seem pretty fast for some people, for sure!  Mine's always been more gradual, though.

It was gradual for me but the past two weeks it's been a really fast forward gradual. :)

I sure think so.  I know I usually pop right away...and then around 20 weeks, I slow down

I will post a pic... please keep in mind that the first picture is at 30 weeks but I didn't grow AT ALL ( I literally stayed the same everyday, I measured lol) and then a pic at 33 weeks... I literally popped overnight.

I had a small bump & then I swear overnight around 27 weeks I popped. Now people actually acknowledge my pregnancy ! I'll be 30 weeks tomorrow

With my first I popped overnight, and had stretch marks all over within that week. I was about 30 weeks pregnant when it happened.

Always gradual for me, although with my 3rd (son) it was faster than with my 2 DDs. They were both about 2 pounds smaller than he was. I also have a uterus that angles toward my back, so belly doesn't protude quite as much as some pregnant women.

When I wore baggy sweatshirts and sweaters, you couldn't tell I was pregnant.

I popped overnight with this pregnancy but it was much more gradual with the first. With this one, I was able to suck it in and everything although I did have just a little added swelling to my belly (it didn't look swollen to anyone but me, and certainly wasn't appearing pregnant). Then I went to bed one night and I couldn't sleep on my belly anymore, it just felt... weird. And when I woke up, BAM. Hello little baby bump. It's been getting slowly bigger ever since. Still not big but still. Very exciting =)

I'm 16 weeks and I can still suck it in as far as before. It seem like it might be a little harder to do, but it still happens. Is that normal?
