Hi I'm 32 and 7wks pregnant with my first child, my hcg levels are supposed to double every 48hrs supposedly, well I've went for 2 blood tests and 1st one they were at 17,154 and 2days later only 17,843. What does this mean? Should I be concerned? Any feedback is much appreciated. Thanks.

Mine were too low and not doubling like they should. I was told it would not be a viable pregnancy. Yet dd is 2 and I had a normal pregnancy

it can mean miscarriage coming BUT i was told at the er that I was miscarrying 3 times, and my ob told me miscarriage was happening....well my son is 9 months on thursday and my hcg levels never doubled not even once, they only went from 12,456 to 12,789 and he is fine. i even tested pos. for downs and he doesnt have it, just stay off your feet eat healthy and drink a bunch of water. let your body decide not the doctors.

I have to go back for a pelvic ultra sound next week. Thats all they're telling me.

Thank you Ladies for all your quick responses. I'm not really too sure how to feel, I guess I'll just have to wait til my appointment..

At this point your levels will not double every 24-48 hours like at the beginning. If you plan on getting an ultrasound, that would give you more reassurance at this point than having betas drawn.
