Have any of you taken this once approved by your doctor to help soften the cervix?

Starting at 30 weeks I take 1000-1500mg evening primrose in capsule form then at 36 weeks I take 2000-2600.

Does it seem to help? I'm already 35w3d. And at my next appt I'm gonna ask my dr if I can take it.

I used it starting at 34 weeks 3 times a day and used it internally after 36 weeks. Dr approved of course and it really seemed to help. My first labor was 12 hours and second was about four. Maybe it helped maybe it didn't but I didn't hurt anything

I haven't done it any other way. So I don't really know. I labored with my daughter for about 7 hours. Got to our birth center at 7am and delivered within 30 minutes of arriving. With my son I labored for about 6 hours and delivered him at home. I might also mention I did not tear with either.

Thanks for the info! I go see the ob next week and plan on asking about it. Hopefully she'll ok it and it'll help soften things up!

I used it internally starting at 34 weeks with both pregnacies. With my first, I was 4cm and 90% effaced by 36 weeks...I delivered at 41 weeks and had a 6 hour labor. With my second, I was at 2cm when my water broke at 35 weeks and delivered the baby within 6 hours also. I personally think it works and am starting it tomorrow with this one (I'm 34 weeks today).
I also did not tear or need an epesiotomy.
