Being very money consious, my boyfriend was talking with his guy friend who has a two year old how they could afford it (since neither he or his wife have jobs, my boyfriend and I do however) and he said to use wet cloths.
So, since realistically it would save us a ton of money, I think that's the route we're going to go, using wipes only when we're out and about in the baby bag.
I was just wondering who else doesn't use wipes and how useful is it? I read stories where some mothers said their child has never had a rash and they believe it's because they don't use chemically soaked wipes.
I use cloth diapers, so yes, I use cloth wipes too. I made them myself! I bought a few yards of flannel, folded the material into a rectangle, cut and stitched the perimeters so that they wouldn't unravel. (Or you could just cut up a few old tee shirts - they won't unravel in the wash.) I even fold them into one another and stack them inside a huggies wipe dispenser. Be careful about leaving them wet...they'll mildew. We learned that the hard way. Now, we just use a spray bottle filled with water for each poo cleanup.
We don't use disposable diapers, or wipes.
No diaper rashes, no leaks and no chemicals on their bums :)

Then, i wipe with flannel. Reuse for each peepee. On a poopoo, i throw in the pail with my diapers.
I rarely use baby wipes.
I cloth diapered my kids and used old huggies containers and 99 cent packages of baby washcloths to wipe. I just used a pinch of mild baby soap and water to fill it. Worked just fine for us. I figure I was washing reusable diapers, might as well wash the wipes too, lol.
