Is it safe to take tums for heartburn and indigestion? I have just started having this at 20 weeks. At first it was sometimes and now it is everytime I eat. And of course I went to the dr. today for my checkup and I forgot to aske her.

Mine gave me a list but I have no idea where it was. I really didn't pay attention to it because I figured no big deal since I didn't have it with my son...lol...

Yes. I take it. I get severe heartburn during pregnancy (the only time I have ever had it in my life).

I bought me some shortly after my first appt but haven't had to use them yet. I have on the other hand been using GasX a few times lol

My midwife advised against them. Said they calcify the placenta. She said by looking at the placenta, she could tell who used Tums.

I use Papaya Enzyme tablets. Haven't touched Tums for 5 pregnancies.
