Quoting LiDoMama:Bassinet, and then a crib. He will have his pack n play for traveling as well.
Pack and Play. When I had my first, I found that looking at bassinets, they only were good up to 15 pounds, which for some babies comes very soon. That was two years ago and they may have upped their weight limits. The Pack and Play was a much better choice for us because we could use it longer. They have an insert which snaps onto all four sides where you can put the "mattress" of the pack and play. It is higher so it can be used for small babies and the weight limit was much higher for that. So if you use a bassinet, make sure it has a higher weight limit or it may be a waste of money.
Quoting MIA0223:Our bed.
pack n play beside our bed and bassinet for living room. i am really scarred of cribs i've heard so many horror stories about cribs.
With my daughter I had a pack n play that had a "bassinet" top to it. I used that for her for a few months until I got a crib. With my son I used a bassinet until he was getting to big for it then a crib. With this baby I will do the same thing a bassinet and then the crib.
