Healthy Pregnancy Challenge Day 6:

Do you make sure you are getting enough sleep? During pregnancy, you will probably be more fatigued then normal, and remember you are growing a new little life, and that will be tiring!

How much do you sleep each night?

How do you make sure that you are getting enough sleep?

have a good night

Here are some quick tips on getting the rest you need:

  • Try a pregnancy pillow to help support your body and keep yourself comfortable in bed
  • Some pregnant moms sleep better in an upright position
  • Be sure to unwind before bed, with a relaxing bath or shower, a good book, some yoga exercises, or a cup of tea or milk
  • If you are experiencing severe sleep issues, be sure to check with your doctor before trying any sleep medication while pregnant

Ahhh sleep is a treat for me these days! Between trying to fall asleep while baby boy is kicking up a storm and getting up 50 times to go potty! Jealous of any of you mommies getting sleep!

I have a horrible time sleeping and haven't found a solution yet.

I think I'm getting enough sleep. I try to get 9-10 hours a night. My 1-year old usually gets up at least once a night. Sometimes I take a nap during the day too.

I sleep about 6-8hrs a night, usually of broken sleep (the longer I sleep the more often I get up during the night/longer I stay up each time). Been like this since I was like 10 so it's not a big issue.

If i do not sleep well during the night, I usually end up taking an after noon nap. (Happening more and more frequently as my due date approaches)

I have insomnia and have had it for a few years now. So no, I don't get enough sleep. I feel exhausted too a lot of the day. I need to work on sleep. It's hard for me. I'm going to try the tea and a book each night. I had some tea the other night and it did help.

The real question is if I'm sleeping too much. If I wake up before 10 (sometimes later) I have a huge migraine.

I don't get enough sleep on most nights. Between not being physically able to sleep well, waking up to use the bathroom, getting woken up by one of the kids (nightmare, peed the bed, crawling into bed with us, etc), and sometimes just having to stay up to get things done, it'd hard. I do take naps on some days, especially if I'm really feeling the need for one. In general, I might get anywhere between 2 and 10 hours of sleep in a 24 hour period.
