I didn't quit smoking until now, preg with my 3rd baby. I quit for about 2months with my first b/c I couldn't stand the taste or the smell, but I started right back up again. I was able to cut back. I gradually quit smoking with this pregnancy. I took away one cig per week from my routine. Pretty soon I was at 1 a day, and then 1 every other day. Now I don't even crave it. You will crave it more if u try to quit cold turkey. It was impossible for me to quit cold turkey. I'm very glad I quit. I not only did it for my unborn child, I did it for myself and my kids. I was a smoker for 13yrs. My dh still smokes and I cant stand how he just reeks of it now.

I quit the day I found out. I was already 4mo along. I wanted to quit though, and had been trying. I really just needed that extra push to help me out. The only time I smoked while I was pregnant was if I was so stressed that I knew my stress level would do more damage than the one cig. I am BFing now and I am trying SOOOO hard not to go back, but ugh it is hard!! I have been smoking 1 a night when I am at work and that is it. I refuse to buy a pack cuz I know its over if i do lol

I quit as soon as I found out I was pregnant (5 weeks). I quit cold turkey and it was hard but I told myself that I could and would do it bc it was best for my baby. I would never want to see my child in any situation that was dangerous to his health, and I couldn't imagine the thought of me being the one putting him in this unhealthy situation. My personal opinion is that if you set your mind to it, it can be done.

What are the side effects if you smoke while pregnant?
I don't smoke but I am curious to know if y'all smoke around ppl or do you do it in private? I wouldn't be able to take the judgemental stares of everyone.
I am not a smoker but I Thought it was so sad to see pregnant moms smoking. Again ,not passing judgement but I just think it looked "bad".

I cut down a lot. There are days that I don't even have one. But I haven't been able to quit completely.

I cut down to like 1-3 a day with my first DD. My second I quit completely because whee made me SO sick I really just couldn't stand them. Not doing so great this time around.
I have tried and tried but I've been smoking for 12 years now. Most days I can keep it down to a few a day but when I try to go without completely I get headaches, shaky, extremely bitchy, and I feel like something is crushing my chest. (Ironic, I know NOT smoking makes it hard to breathe.)
I will smoke in public, I don't give a shit what anyone thinks of me because they don't know me. I don't smoke in front of my mom...but I don't do that much really even when I'm not pregnant. Not worth the nagging.
