My doctor seems to think I won't make it to 40 weeks and at the very least have a very fast labor/delivery since it's my third baby. I told him I have my Mom coming when I give her the "I'm in labor call" but she is 5 to 6 hours away. He said it's not a good idea b/c I won't have that sort of time to wait. Do you think he is right with his concerns? I have never been this dialated before and am getting contractions like crazy! They don't go anywhere tho. BTW the doctor who examed me said one to two cent. when I told the other doc this he kept referring to it as 2 cent. Do you know what one to 2 means exactly?
yeah my labors have been very fast. first was 7 hours from start to finish (only that long b/c he was face up and took 2.5 hours to push) and second was 4 from start to finish and I rested for a long time after my epi before pushing. I live an hour from the hospital so that is sorta scary for us.

Doctor is a moron! You can be at a three for six weeks or you can be locked up tighter than Fort Knox and deliver in less than a day. How dilated you are has no bearing on when you will go into labor. Labor is triggered by chemicals secreted once those little lungs are finished developing- which is something that can't be measured by someone needlessly sticking their fingers up into your vagina. Each labor is different. Unless you have a history of super fast labors, you should be okay.
