Well... it was 'confirmed' twice tonight... once by my also pregnant neighbor and another by the lady behind the counter at 7-11 lol... evidently I MUST be having a girl because my sonogram yesterday revealed a heartrate of 168.... surely this an old wives tale, no? I am 9 weeks right now and DYING to know so I can start stashing pink stuff :D

I dunno.. baby #2, heartbeat was that at the same time, he's a boy. Sounds like a wives tale to me.

I dont believe in wives tales. I am having a boy in a few days and his heart rate varies high to almost 170 and down to 130's.

Lol. At my first u/s the heartrate was 170. I told dh (mostly teasing) that it meant it was a girl. But then I Googled it and read the study and its totally not true. Darn it. ;)

Oh well.... a girl can dream. Truly ill be happy for perfect health but I've had two boys, so.... :) I am surprised at how much more neurotic and paranoid about birth defects I am this time around... I have been worrying myself in to a frenzy about chemicals, pesticides, etc etc etc... so I'm just going to breath a sigh of relief as long as baby has ten fingers and ten toes :)

Mostly a wives tale but true in my case. My DD's was always high in the 150s and up.  This little fellows has been in the 140s and 130s the whole time.

my daughters heart rate was the same with all my boys 135 to 145 so i dont believe it at all. Heart rate goes up sometimes if the baby is active dont get to excited if its not a girl.
