I've never heard that.  My doctor told me I could eat and drink as normal the day of the test, just nothing too sugary and I can't put anything in my mouth after I drink it, gum, water, food etc.  I have my test at 4:15 so we'll see how it works.

My DR said that you do not have to fast anymore, said the opposite at the last pregnancy.  I was able to dink water before up until the test.  You are not aloud to drink anything else but water.  The first one I fasted and didn't drink water, I ended up getting a little sick and the person who was drawling the blood was like why didn't you drink water.  So just double check with you MD and make sure you understand them right.
