Car Seat Safety Challenge Day 5: Don't Be in a Rush
Milestones are exciting in a baby's life and parents are usually so eager to see them happen. Today's challenge is to not rush the front-facing milestone. Keep your baby in a rear-facing car seat for as long as possible (up to the height and weight limit of the seat) for the best possible protection.
- New recommendations suggest that kids stay rear-facing until at least 2 years old.
- The "20 pounds or 1 year old" rule that many parents use for turning their kids around was the minimum and has become outdated with new recommendation.

with the new baby i have decided to wait till he or she is 2.. with dd everyone told me to turn her around at 1.. so we did:(
I plan on keeping him rear facing until he maxes out his seat. Longer if we get the new seats I want. Worst case he will be turned around at 21 months when the new baby arrives.
