First off I'll start by saying My hubby and I are wanting to keep "B" for the first letter of the first name.
I really want the name Brookelynn (if we are having a girl, that its, and because its my middle name and my mom's middle name combined) but my hubby doesn't want it due to it's "history." To make a long story short, I USED TO HAVE a friend that had a baby and used that name. The baby passed away 3weeks after it was born.
Question is: would it be wrong to use this name? And how do I convince him otherwise?
This could be the last time we have a baby....

Honestly, I do not think I could use that name. Even if she were no longer a friend, I would feel bad using the name of her passed child... But that is me. Good luck.

I wouldn't use it.
There are tons of names that start with B.

I couldn't use it but would go with something similar like Brynlynn.

If either of you have negative connotations with a name, I would think it's best to choose another.

It's your middle name...name your kid whatever has meaning to YOU, not anyone else. The baby may have passed (I've gone thru 4 miscarriages. Including twins), but life goes on, and that baby isn't the only Brooklyn.

I wouldn't but it's your baby. Consider your husbands feeling and try to compromise with him.

Thank you all for your opinions. The way my mother explains it is, the ex-friend won't always be in my life but the baby will. I've wanted that name since I've started thinking about having babies. I have like 20 more weeks to think about it so who knows....
