I have been through that, earlier this year even.
It is quite devastating and I honestly know that nothing I say or do will make you feel better, but I give you the utmost condolences and deepest sincerities.

Do you have to have a D&C or are you going to try to pass it yourself?

Yes I went through this about 3 years ago but I can still remember that day clearly when my doctor told me. My body went ice cold and my heart had a piece missing from it. Most people around me didnt understand the feeling of great loss that you feel. You can message me if you need advice. Time only helped me and my daughter. She pulled me through my grief.

There is a Pregnancy Loss support group here on Cafemom. Let me know if you have trouble finding it- I will be happy to help you out. I'm very, very sorry for your loss. I have had two losses of my own and they are so very painful to deal with. :(

I had a loss at 14 weeks last year and another at 18 a few months before that. It is incredibly painful and people who haven't experienced it really don't have a clue. I had so many well meaning people tell me that they knew what I was going through because they had a loss at 6 or 7 weeks and I just wanted to scream at them. I've had early losses too and they are nothing compared to second trimester loss, physically or mentally.

You will need to talk to your dr about your options but I would recommend D&C. My dr put mine off so I could see a specialist and my miscarriage started at home. I won't go in to details here but let's just say that if I were ever going to have a mental breakdown and lose my mind it would have been that morning. Having a D&C is less painful physically speaking and less traumatic.

Feel free to PM me. I know your head is going to be all over the place and you will likely feel like you're losing your grip. Having someone tell you that what you're feeling is totally normal and will pass is a huge help. Meanwhile, be gentle with yourself. If you don't want to talk then delegate, have your mom pass the message around your family and switch off your phone. Curl up in bed with ice cream and movies if that's what you want to do. Let yourself deal without forcing anything
