Im on a roll with posting lately but prayers are needed for my best friend. A lil back info..we both had a very difficult time concieving our little miracle babies. Im due Feb 10th and she is due May 9th both of us with boys took over 4 years to get this far for the both of us and were only 25..she just had her 20 week ultrasound and there were some concerning things so the OB..we have the same one sent her to a specialist for another ultrasound today and its confirmed her lil baby was diagnosed with spinal bifida. Im so heartsick for her. It makes you appreciate what you have cause I know its going to be a struggle for her and her husband but that baby is going to be so loved its ridiculous. Im trying to give her some space cause I know she has alot to think about, I just cant even imagine what she must be going through.

Im not sure how mild or severe his case is, the specialist told her that there is a treatment center in san francisco that can do a back suregery while he is still in the womb or they can wait till he is born he would need a surgery at 24 hrs old and then another a couple months later and even then it cant guarantee he will ever walk.

Oh my gosh, I would be so scared too!!  I also had fertility problems and had to go through treatments for both my boys.  I can relate to that feeling of wanting your baby SO bad and for it to be 100% healthy!!!

I am praying very hard for her baby, her and husband!!!!

I've read amazing results from the en utero surgery. Some babies have little to NO after affects of sb after having it done!

My sister was born with it and multiple other birth defects. The spina bifida ended up correcting itself but she was closely monitored until it did. Hopefully it's a mild case.
