13 weeks and major back pain - is this normal?

I'm 13 weeks pregnant almost 14 and I've been having major back pain for the last 3 days. I've read that it could just be because the babys growing, but I know it doesn't weigh more than an ounce right now and I don't think that's enough pressure to cause the amount of constant pain that I'm having. Is it because my uterus is moving? Is this normal? Or should I go see a doctor about it?

It could be muscles or ligaments- it could be other things.

What kind of pain is it? Can you describe it?

It's a constant pain it gets worse when I move around. It's like a tight, sharp kind of constricted pain.

Does it radiate down toward your hip at all?

That rules out sciatica (pinched sciatic nerve) for now.

Have you asked your doctor about it? I'd be a little concerned if it's such an intense pain so early on, though I'm sure it's nothing.

No I haven't, I'm supposed to see her on the 8th so I was going to ask her about it then if it's still going on, but I don't know if I should be really concerned about it and call and ask about it before then.
