She's finally here!

I started having contractions around 8am. 10-15 minutes apart. After lunch (around 2) they changed to 2-5 minutes.

Baby Joy was born in the tub today at 5:17pm.

10lb 11oz

21 1/2 inches

She's a chunk!!!
I think she was late. LOL

I have her in a Nb outfit, but she just barely fits. The NB cloth diapers do fit her though. LOL

Quoting summerbear:

Congrats!! So happy for you! What a big girl! Beautiful name!

What size does she wear? She is too cute!

Joy is my 8th. No cesareans. I was Due dec 20. I was doubting my dates, but looks like I was right. She was just my 42w 5d baby.

The actual delivery was hard. My biggest was 9lb 1oz. She was MUCH bigger in comparison. I actually reached down and pushed her back in at one point when she was crowning. LOL! I just took it VERY slow. Instead of my normal "baby out in 2-3 pushes", she took probably 6-8 slow guided ones in the water. I thank laboring and birthing in the water for no tears. My skin was softer and more pliable. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure I would have.

As for doing a VBAC. In most circumstances, a VBAC carries less risk than a repeat cesarean. Good luck on your upcoming VBAC!

awwww! shes adorable! Congrats to you!!!! I want to know about your birth! Is Joy your first child? Have you had any previous c sections? When was your due date compared to when you delivered? How was the delivery itself? Did you tear? Im sorry for all the questions, but Im going to attempt a vbac in February and my baby is measuring big already. His older brother was 11 lbs 6 oz at birth-hubbby and I just make em big and Im wondering if the vbac is a safe choice. As it approaches, Im strting to have doubts. :-(
